14-year-old Azeri pianist Tarlan Rahimova became the laureate of an international contest of young pianists in Enhed, the Netherlands, for her performance technique. The competition was attended by 42 young performers from 19 countries, such as the US, China, Russia, France, Germany, Korea, etc.
T. Rahimova won a special diploma at the first international Chopin contest of pianists in Ankara in 1999 and a year later entered the Higher Musical School in Freiburg, Germany in its first ever admission of a 13-year old girl as a student. Currently, Tarlan is studying under the supervision of renowned German pianist and pedagogue Michael Keller.
The Azeri prodigy is expected to hold a concert at the grand hall of Baku Musical Academy on November 28.*
