Speaker says no factions are needed in parliament
Chairman of the PFPA reform wing, MP Ali Karomov stressed the necessity of setting up an inter-parliamentary faction in a parliament session Tuesday. The international practice downplays the minimum of 25 parliamentarians for establishment of a faction, he said.
Responding to the statements, speaker Alasgarov said there was no need for a faction. The New Azerbaijan Party doesn’t have a faction with its 75 MPs and 10 MPs couldn’t set it up at all, the speaker said. The issue could be settled by vote if necessary, he indicated.*
