New Azerbaijan Party wins all the three parliament seats
The by-elections in three constituencies to the Azerbaijan parliament on April 12 have been announced valid, as Vaghif Abdullayev polled most of the votes (69.57%) in Narimanov #24, Mikail Mirza won 62.4% in Ali Bayramli #29 and Nizami Ahmadov captured 84.5% in Kapaz #31 constituencies. All the three are members of the New Azerbaijan Party.
Former PNIA executive Shadman Hussein polled 9.8% of the votes, Arif Pashayev from the PFPA – 6.4% and Hijran Farzaliyeva from Adalat – 3.8%.
17 parliamentary hopefuls contested the three seats in the elections observed by 45 international onlookers.
The Central Election Commission reported no serious offenses in the course of the elections.*
